ThingCo strengthens tech leadership with appointment of Simon Shering as Head of IT Development

London, 19 th May 2026: Software engineering and IT delivery expert, Simon Shering, has
joined telematics insurtech, ThingCo, as it continues to scale its connected insurance
solutions. In his new position as Head of IT Development, and reporting to Matt Masters,
Director of Information Technology, Simon further strengthens the company’s technology
leadership team, taking responsibility for ensuring ThingCo’s platform continues to be
scalable and future-proof.

With a Degree in Economics & Accountancy and Master’s degree in Information Technology
from Loughborough University, Simon has more than two decades experience in software
engineering and IT delivery across highly regulated industries, including financial services
and cloudbased SaaS platforms. He has a strong track record of driving cloud migration and
platform modernisation programmes, and embedding automation, security and best practice
delivery processes to improve performance, resilience and efficiency.
